Overview
The Business Dashboard is your command center in BizBooks Pro. It provides a real-time snapshot of your company's financial health and quick access to the most common tasks you'll perform daily.
Dashboard Cards
Five key metrics are displayed as cards at the top of your dashboard:
| Card | What It Shows | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| Cash & Banking | Total balance across all bank/cash accounts | Your available liquid funds |
| Outstanding Receivables | Total unpaid customer invoices | Money coming in - track collections |
| Outstanding Payables | Total unpaid vendor bills | Money going out - manage obligations |
| Monthly Activity | Transaction count this month | Monitor business activity level |
| Client Base | Total active customers | Track customer growth |
Quick Actions
Below the dashboard cards, you'll find one-click buttons for common tasks:
Create New Transaction
Opens the general transaction modal for manual adjustments, corrections, or complex multi-line entries.
Receive Payment
Record a payment from a customer against their outstanding invoices.
- Click Receive Payment
- Select the customer
- Enter payment amount, date, and method
- Select which invoice(s) to apply payment to
- Click Save Payment
Deposit Received Payments
Group multiple received payments into a single bank deposit.
- Click Deposit Received Payments
- Select undeposited payments to include
- Choose the bank account for deposit
- Enter deposit date
- Click Create Deposit
Create Bill
Enter a bill from a vendor that you'll pay later.
- Click Create Bill
- Select or create the vendor
- Enter bill details (number, date, due date)
- Add line items with expense accounts
- Click Save Bill
Pay Bill
Record payment of an outstanding vendor bill.
- Click Pay Bill
- Select the vendor
- Choose which bills to pay
- Select payment account
- Click Pay Selected Bills
Quick Expense
Fast entry for simple expenses paid immediately (no bill involved).
- Click Quick Expense
- Select expense category
- Select payment account
- Enter amount and description
- Click Save Expense
Daily Workflow Tips
Morning Routine
- Check Cash & Banking - know your available funds
- Review Outstanding Receivables - follow up on overdue invoices
- Check Outstanding Payables - note upcoming payment obligations
Throughout the Day
- Use Quick Expense for small purchases
- Use Receive Payment when customer payments arrive
- Use Create Bill when vendor invoices come in
End of Day
- Use Deposit Received Payments to batch your deposits
- Review Monthly Activity to ensure all transactions are recorded
