Speed Stats
A one-click check that shows how fast your books run and how much you've tracked - measured live on your own data, in plain English.
Overview
Speed Stats answers a simple question: how fast is your accounting software running? Instead of guessing, it times your own real reports and shows you a clear, friendly verdict. If you ever used QuickBooks and dreaded the "your file is too large, please condense" warning, Speed Stats is the reassurance you never had - proof your books stay quick, no matter how much you record.
It is completely read-only. It never changes your data, and it never makes up numbers - every figure comes from your actual company file.
Where to Find It
There are two ways to reach Speed Stats:
- From the menu: Click the More ▾ menu in the top navigation bar and choose 📊 Speed Stats. (You can pin it to your main toolbar using the customize gear if you like.)
- From the Dashboard: A small Speed Stats card appears near the top of your Business Dashboard showing a quick summary. Click it to open the full panel.
Inside the panel, click Run health check to measure your current results.
What It Measures
When you run a check, Speed Stats times the operations you actually use every day:

| Balance Sheet | How long it takes to total every ledger line for the company |
| Income Statement | How long a profit-and-loss report takes for a period |
| Busiest register | How fast your highest-volume account (often the bank account) opens |
| Dashboard | How quickly your headline numbers refresh |
It also confirms the behind-the-scenes performance optimizations are in place, so your register stays fast even after years of data.
Reading Your Results
Each check is graded with a simple color, and the headline tells you the overall verdict:

| Green | Instant - the report comes back in well under a second |
| Amber | Still fast, but worth keeping an eye on as you grow |
| Red | Slower than we'd like - reach out and we'll help optimize |
Times are shown in seconds (for example, 0.02s) so they match how you actually experience the wait. Click Details to see each individual check's timing.
Your Grand Total
The per-company numbers show the size and speed of the company file you're currently in. Speed Stats also adds up every transaction across all of your company files for a grand total - so if you run several businesses, you can see the full scope of what you've tracked in one place. This total only ever includes companies you have access to.
How Fast Is Fast?
We benchmarked BizBooks Pro to find out where it would actually slow down. We kept loading more and more transactions to see how many it would take before a full Balance Sheet finally reached three seconds.
The answer: 26 million transactions - around 52 million ledger lines. For comparison, QuickBooks Desktop typically starts struggling near 200,000. In day-to-day use, your reports will feel instant for many, many years.
