Two Connection Modes - You Choose, and We Tell You Which You're Using

Not every practice has the same requirements, so there are two ways to connect and the client decides which.

Relay (the simple one). One toggle on the client's side, a short code on yours. Requests travel through the BizBooks relay service to reach the client's computer. Nothing to install beyond the app itself.
Tailscale (the stricter one). A direct, encrypted, peer-to-peer link. It takes more setup on both sides, and in exchange the client's books never pass through our servers at all. If you work with law firms, healthcare clients or government entities, that distinction is usually a procurement requirement rather than a preference.

We are deliberate about not blurring the two. Relay is convenient; Tailscale is private. The invitation email your client sends states exactly which mode applies, so you are never told a connection is one-click and then asked to configure a VPN.
