Recommend accounting software your clients actually want, and take a published cut of it โ 20% to 70% depending on the track you pick. Four ways in: casual affiliate, certified consultant, white-labeled firm edition, or a full reseller license with your own sales team.
Sixty seconds, four to six questions, no email required to see your answer. Or skip ahead to the break-even math โ
Six things that separate this from the usual "become a partner" landing page.
On the Certified Partner, Enterprise and Reseller tracks, your cut arrives again every year the client renews โ not just on the first invoice. Sign ten clients in year one and you start year two already earning on all ten.
20% first-year on the free affiliate track. 35% recurring once you are certified, then 50% and 70% on the two tracks that carry a buy-in. You can read every number on this page before you talk to a human.
Commissions split at the moment the customer's card clears, routed through Kantivo Platform. No invoicing us, no 60-day payout window, no chasing anybody down.
Certified Partner and above get an Accountant Pro license plus an extra seat — $660/year of software — so you're running your own books on the thing you're recommending.
Enterprise partners ship the software as their own branded product. Clients see your logo on the login screen; you keep the relationship and the renewal.
Every paid partner gets a private pipeline in the partner portal โ leads, deal stages, commission ledger. Resellers get one for each salesperson they hire.
No lengthy vetting committee. Four steps, most of them automated.
The fit finder asks about your role, your client base, and how hands-on you want to be, then names the track that matches. Wrong answer? Every other track stays one click away.
Match Me to a Track →Applying creates your account on Kantivo Platform โ the partner back office behind BizBooks Pro. Referral link, CRM pipeline, and commission ledger are waiting when you log in.
Send the link, or run the demo yourself, or deploy the white-labeled build across your whole client roster. Attribution sticks to your code for a full year after the first click.
Software commissions are the floor. Bring in other partners for a 5% override, or sell Kantivo Platform subscriptions to SaaS founders who need their own partner-management system. Same portal, same payout rail.
Commission rate rises with commitment. Pick the row you can actually sustain.
The 35% is the certified rate. You can join and start earning before you sit the exam — it takes about 90 minutes and lifts you to the full rate the day you pass.
Unsure which row is yours? Run the 60-second fit finder โ it accounts for your role, your client base and your appetite for buy-in.
Most partner programs hide this arithmetic. Here it is, worked out on one real product tier.
Take Accountant Pro at $540/year โ the tier most bookkeepers and CPA practices land on. Here's what one client of that size is worth to you on each track, and how many of them it takes to cover the buy-in.
| Track | What it costs you | Per $540 client | Break-even |
|---|---|---|---|
| Affiliate | Nothing | $108, year one only | Immediate โ first sale is profit |
| Certified Partner | Nothing — pass the certification | $189 every year | Immediate — there is no buy-in to recover |
| Enterprise | $1,680/yr | $270 every year | 7 clients, and your practice runs on the license too |
| Reseller License | $11,000 + $63/rep/mo | $378 every year | ~30 clients, then the recurring base compounds |
The honest caveats. Figures are illustrative, calculated on one tier โ sell the $299 Basic edition and the per-client numbers shrink; sell Enterprise and they grow. Commissions are net of roughly 3% in shared card-processing fees. Recurring means recurring while the client renews: churn takes the payment with it. And the paid tracks are a genuine buy-in, not a formality โ if you can't picture five clients inside the first year, the free affiliate track is the sane place to start.
Certified Partners run their own practice on BizBooks Pro at no cost. Here is exactly how that works, before you apply.
Certified Partner applications are approved on the spot. You are in and earning before you do anything else.
Four short modules and a twenty-question exam. Free, about ninety minutes, and it is what lifts your commission to 35%.
A full BizBooks Pro licence covering two sets of books, for your own practice. Claimed in the partner portal, not bought.
Bank and tax details go in when your first commission is on its way, not before. Nothing about the licence waits on them.
Seven backgrounds that tend to convert, and the track each one usually lands on.
Stop being unpaid tech support for software somebody else sells. Put your own name on it and bill the renewal. Usually: Enterprise.
You already tell every new client what to use. That recommendation has been free for years โ this is the version that pays annually. Usually: Certified Partner.
You're already rebuilding a client's finance stack during onboarding. Getting paid on the software layer is a rounding error of extra work. Usually: Certified Partner.
If you want inventory to sell, reps to manage, and margin you control, the reseller license is a business in a box. Usually: Reseller.
Accounting software fits neatly beside the backup and helpdesk line items you already invoice for. Usually: Certified Partner or Enterprise.
Know how to work a pipeline? Join a reseller's team or run your own. The CRM and commission ledger come with the seat. Usually: Reseller team.
Newsletters, YouTube channels and blogs serving business owners. Free to join, nothing to lose, 20% on whatever your audience buys. Usually: Affiliate.
Exact contents vary by track โ the fit finder spells out yours before you apply.
Certified Partner: a free two-book licence with the full accountant toolset. Enterprise and Reseller: the $540 Accountant Pro edition, plus a $120 extra seat.
Work through the training and carry a title clients recognize
Every click, signup and payout visible in the portal as it happens
A CRM of your own for tracking prospects โ one per salesperson on reseller teams
Comparison sheets against QuickBooks and Xero, plus co-brandable material
We take the messy QuickBooks migrations off your plate while you learn the ropes
Bring another partner aboard and earn on their software sales too
A direct channel for you and, when it matters, for your clients
The affiliate track is free โ no card, no minimum, no quota. Certified Partner is free too, and you are approved on the spot rather than queued — the certification is what earns you the 35% rate, and you can start referring before you sit it. Only the Enterprise and Reseller tracks carry buy-ins ($1,680/year and $11,000), and we publish them here rather than saving them for a sales call.
At the moment the client's card clears. Stripe splits the payment and routes your share through Kantivo Platform automatically โ you're not invoicing us or waiting on a monthly payout run.
The recurring commission stops with the subscription. Nothing is clawed back from what you've already been paid, but renewals only pay while the client renews. We'd rather say that plainly than let you build a forecast on it.
Yes. Attribution sticks to your referral code for 365 days from the first click, stored in both a cookie and local storage so a browser restart doesn't wipe it. An accountant who mentions us in March still gets paid when the client finally signs up in November.
On the Enterprise track, yes โ clients install it under your name and logo, and you own that relationship end to end. Certified Partner and affiliate partners sell it as BizBooks Pro.
That's the Reseller License. Each rep you add costs $63/month and gets their own portal login and private pipeline, and you set their compensation.
Not unless you want to. Hand the complicated conversions to us; the training also covers doing them yourself once you'd rather keep that revenue.
Yes, and most people do. Start as an affiliate to see whether your audience bites, then step up to Certified Partner whenever you like โ you do not have to sit the exam before applying, only before the 35% rate applies. Your existing referrals come with you.
Four to six questions about your practice and your appetite for commitment. You'll see the recommended track, its commission rate, its buy-in and everything it includes โ before we ask for so much as an email address.
Takes about a minute. Applications run through Kantivo Platform, the partner back office behind BizBooks Pro.
